Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs in India (2025–2027) : The demand for 7-seater SUVs is constantly increasing in the Indian automobile market. Families are getting bigger, journeys are getting longer and people are looking for vehicles that not only look stylish but also have the best in space and comfort. This is the reason why many car companies are working on their new 7-seater SUV models, which will be seen on Indian roads in the coming years. Be it Mahindra or Renault, Honda or Hyundai – every brand is bringing a three-row SUV in its next big offering. Let us know which 7-seater SUVs are going to knock in India in the coming time.

Mahindra is working on the facelift version of its popular SUV XUV700. This car can be introduced next year with the new name XUV7XO. The company has already registered this name. There can be many changes in its design, especially in both exterior and interior. However, the engine options will remain the same as before – the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines with the option of both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Renault is also preparing to bring a new 7-seater SUV, which will be called ‘Boreal’. This vehicle will be based on the Dacia Bigster and will use the same platform as the Duster. The length of this SUV will be more than that of the Duster and the wheelbase will also be bigger. It is expected that it will also have a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine and a hybrid version, which can become an affordable option for India. The entry of this vehicle can happen in the second half of 2026.

Honda is also working on its new 7-seater SUV which can be launched in India by 2027. This vehicle will be built on their new PF2 platform and it is also being developed in India with the team of Japan and Thailand. Its size will be bigger than the Honda Elevate and it is expected to get the option of 1.5-litre petrol engine as well as a hybrid version.

Hyundai is also not behind in this race. The company is preparing a new three-row hybrid SUV, codenamed Ni1i. It will be positioned above the Alcazar and can compete with the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. Its launch is likely to happen by 2027. In this, the company can add a hybrid system to the 1.6-liter hybrid engine like the international models or a 1.5-liter petrol engine for the Indian market, which can make it more economical.

Kia is also planning to make a new 7-seater SUV for India, which will be inspired by the Sorento SUV. It is codenamed MQ4i and can be launched by 2027. It will be above the Seltos in Kia’s line-up and will also use hybrid technology with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which will also be given in the upcoming new generation Seltos.

At the same time, a new 7-seater SUV named Tayron from Volkswagen can come to India this festive season. This vehicle is built on the company’s MQB EVO platform and can be called a bigger version of Tiguan. It will have a powerful 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, which will give 204 bhp power and 320 Nm torque. Also, it will also get 7-speed DSG gearbox and AWD i.e. all-wheel drive. Its price can be up to around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

With the arrival of all these vehicles, the 7-seater SUV segment is going to be even more fun. Every brand is trying to give something new – some are bringing changes in the design, some are focusing on technology and features, while some are going to attract people’s attention through fuel efficiency and hybrid systems. In the next few years, this entire segment is going to reach new heights and customers will have a lot of options.
