Design
First of all, the Thruxton 400 is designed in a pure Café Racer style, with clip-on handlebars, sleek fuel tank, bullet seat cowl, bar-end mirrors and an old-school fairing. Apart from this, the color-coded tail section and contrast accents on the body further enhance its beauty.
Triumph’s craftsmanship is evident in every corner of this bike. There’s the polished Monza-style fuel cap, machined angled fins, cast aluminium wheels and high-grade paintwork. This bike not only looks stunning, but its build quality is also top-notch.
Engine
The Thruxton 400 is the most powerful version of Triumph’s TR-series engine. This 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 42 PS of power at 9,000 RPM and 37.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 RPM. It is about 5% more powerful than the Speed 400.
In addition, the revised camshaft and tuned internals allow the engine to rev harder and higher, which has also improved top-end performance. The bike features modern technology like ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, slipper and assist clutch, dual-channel ABS and USB-C charging port.
Features
Now talking about its features, the Thruxton 400 has a single-dial display, which also integrates a multifunction LCD screen with an analog speedometer. For lighting, a round LED headlamp, LED indicators and a compact LED tail light have been provided.
Safety features include ABS, traction control and slipper clutch. Apart from this, the bike has a 13-litre fuel tank, a seat height of 805mm and a weight of 181kg. MRF REVZ tyres (110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear) make its grip even better.
