If you are also one of those people who are crazy about the design and performance of Toyota Fortuner, but are put off by its price, then this news is for you! Toyota is bringing a new and smaller Fortuner, which will compete with SUVs like Mahindra Scorpio N and Rocks. Let’s know what special features this new SUV will bring.

Toyota Mini Fortuner

Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP) President Hao Kukuo Tian recently confirmed that the company is developing a new SUV on the IMV 0 modular platform. This platform is already being used in the Hilux Champ pickup truck, but now it is being converted into a compact and affordable SUV. It is believed that this new car will be launched in the market as “Mini Fortuner”.

Design

The design of this new SUV will be boxy and retro style, which will give it a strong and masculine look. It will be built on the same IMV 0 platform as the Hilux Champ pickup truck, with a wheelbase (2,750mm) similar to the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. This means that it can also be offered in 2 and 3-row variants.

Interiors and Features

Talking about its interior and features, this SUV will not be as basic as the Hilux Champ. It can be given more premium interiors, better materials and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Also, advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and multi-view camera can also be found.

Engine

If we talk about its engine, its engine has not been revealed, it can have a 2.4L diesel engine, 2.8L diesel engine and 2.7L petrol engine. Therefore, Toyota will have many engine options for this new SUV. This can make it a strong competitor in the Indian market.
