Tesla, the American electric car giant, is expanding its presence in India. After launching its first showroom in Mumbai, the company is now setting up a second one in Delhi. Tesla has already begun taking bookings for its Model Y electric SUV across the country, although initial deliveries will happen in select cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Gurugram.
Delhi to Get Tesla’s New Showroom
Tesla’s second Indian showroom is being built in Aerocity, a prime location close to the airport. The new space will be an experience centre for buyers to explore the car in person. The company has not yet revealed the exact opening date, but it’s likely to begin operations by next month. This expansion follows Tesla’s increasing focus on the Indian market, where EV adoption is picking up.
Price and Variants of Tesla Model Y
Tesla currently offers only the rear-wheel drive version of the Model Y in India. There are two variants available: the Standard version priced at ₹61.06 lakh and the Long Range version priced at ₹69.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both models offer a premium electric driving experience with advanced features and global safety standards.
Range and Speed Performance
The Model Y Standard version comes with a WLTP-certified range of 500 kilometres. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and offers a top speed of 201 km/h. Meanwhile, the Long Range version goes even further with a range of 622 kilometres. It also picks up faster, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in only 5.6 seconds. Despite the extra range, the top speed remains the same at 201 km/h.
