5 Electric Cars Are Launching Soon: India’s electric vehicle market is buzzing with excitement as several carmakers gear up to launch new EV models. These electric cars are expected to make a big splash, thanks to their impressive range, features, and modern technology. If you’re planning to switch to an electric car soon, keep an eye on these five upcoming models.
Tata Sierra EV
Tata is all set to revive its iconic nameplate with the electric version of the Sierra. First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, this car has grabbed a lot of attention. Although official details are still under wraps, it is expected to borrow its power unit from the Harrier EV. The design is likely to remain similar to the ICE version, giving it a bold and modern SUV look. Tata fans can look forward to a familiar design with a powerful electric twist.
Hyundai Ioniq 5
Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 facelift has been spotted testing multiple times and is expected to arrive with updated specs. It will be offered in both single and dual motor setups. The RWD version uses a single PMS motor and delivers 221 hp and 350 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant offers 315 hp and 605 Nm of torque. Battery options include a 63 kWh RWD model with 394 km range, an 84 kWh RWD with 511 km range, and an AWD 84 kWh version offering 466 km range. Hyundai is clearly targeting performance and variety in this upgraded model.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to enter the electric vehicle space with its first EV, the e-Vitara, launching on September 3. This car will offer two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller battery is expected to deliver a range of 346 km (WLTP), while the larger battery with a single motor could provide up to 428 km. A dual motor version with the 61 kWh battery is also likely, offering a range of around 412 km. With its trusted brand image and multiple range options, the e-Vitara could become a popular choice in the EV segment.
Mahindra XEV 7e
Mahindra’s XEV 7e is another highly anticipated electric SUV. While most details are yet to be officially confirmed, reports suggest it will come with two battery packs: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. On a full charge, the vehicle could offer a driving range of up to 500 kilometers. Mahindra is keeping most specs under wraps, but expectations are high for this bold and capable SUV.
Kia Syros EV
Kia plans to launch the Syros EV in the Indian market by the end of this year. Although specific features are not revealed yet, it’s expected to share battery options with Hyundai, including either a 42 kWh or a 49 kWh pack. With Kia’s reputation for design and comfort, the Syros EV could attract buyers looking for a compact, well-equipped electric vehicle.
