Skoda Recall 2025: Trouble has once again arisen for two top car manufacturers. A new problem has led to a recall of more than 1,800 units, so it is significant for current customers to see whether their vehicle is included in the list. The manufacturer has taken responsibility for the fault and released an update.
What is the Problem in These Cars
A technical defect has been discovered in the rear seatbelt assembly of some models. This includes a crack at the metal base of the seatbelt frame and the faulty installation of some components in certain cars. Since this has a direct impact on the safety of passengers, the company resolved to recall the units.
When Were These Cars Manufactured
The models recalled in this campaign were manufactured in India from December 2021 to May 2025. Interestingly, the same set of models had already witnessed a huge recall of 47,235 units in May 2025 for a similar defect. This could be evidence of lapses in quality checks of the company during manufacturing.
List of Affected Models
In this recall, Skoda has recalled 860 units of Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq. From Volkswagen, 961 units of Virtus and Taigun are affected. Imported premium versions such as Tiguan R Line and Golf GTI are not included in this recall, providing some respite to owners of such variants.
How to Check If Your Car Is Affected
Owners can either wait to be contacted by the firm or check in advance. Go to the official Skoda or Volkswagen website and utilize the recall microsite. Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check whether your car is included in the recall.
What Should Owners Do Now
If your car is among the affected models, the company will offer a free repair or part replacement at your nearest Skoda or Volkswagen service centre. Until the issue is fixed, be extra cautious while using the rear seatbelts. Prompt action will help avoid any potential risk during driving.
Rising Concern Over Frequent Recalls
It is the second recall within a span of a few months, and this places Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Limited in the limelight. Buyers as well as auto experts are raising questions over the quality of their manufacturing. Now attention is riveted on how the company regains user confidence in the future.
