Nissan Magnite CNG: Nissan is proving to be a tough competitor for Tata Punch and Maruti Fronx with a new development in its lone SUV. Its new CNG variant has come along with a powerful warranty and additional states added now, increasing its presence for those who desire improved fuel savings. Let’s find out why it’s special.

Availability and Expansion

Nissan Motor India has revealed the second phase of roll-out of Magnite CNG with its factory-approved retrofitment kit. Now, this SUV can be bought along with a CNG kit in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu. Earlier, Nissan has begun selling the Magnite CNG in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. With this roll-out, Magnite CNG is available in 13 states of India now, furthering Nissan’s position among affordable CNG SUVs.

Magnite CNG Price

Magnite’s CNG variant begins at ₹6.89 lakh ex-showroom, some ₹75,000 more than the regular petrol model. This cost includes the retrofitment kit installed at Nissan dealerships. The company makes sure this kit complies with all local regulations and safety standards. By pricing it well below ₹7 lakh, Nissan hopes to get budget-conscious customers interested in a sensible, fuel-efficient compact SUV with lower operating costs.

Engine and Variants

Nissan has restricted the CNG option to just its 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The fuel-efficient feature is available to customers in only six chosen variants. Nissan is hoping to make the Magnite CNG available in more locations across its network through a third phase of roll-out in the near future, potentially spanning even more states.

Warranty and Practical Features

A 3-year or 1 lakh kilometer warranty is provided for the CNG kit, a reassuring factor for customers concerned about long-term upkeep. Apart from this, Magnite CNG also comes with a 336-litre boot space after retrofitment, ensuring it makes sense for family use on a daily basis. Nissan points out that safety and installation norms have been kept up to provide reassurance.

Market Competition

Magnite CNG will have competitors such as the Renault Kiger CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG, Tata Punch CNG, Toyota Taser, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG. With its competitive price, strong network of Nissan dealerships, and long warranty, Magnite has a reasonable chance of winning hearts in the CNG subcompact SUV segment.
