Maruti Suzuki Dzire has done something incredible that combines form with function. This time, it’s not merely a question of looks or fuel efficiency — the limelight is squarely on safety. Being one of the first vehicles to be tested under the new Bharat NCAP initiative, the new Dzire sedan has raised the bar in crash protection and strength.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Gets 5-Star Safety Rating

The new fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has received a full 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). With this, Dzire is the first Maruti sedan to achieve a 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP scheme. It achieved 29.46 points out of 32 for adult safety and 41.57 points out of 49 for child safety, ranking among the segment’s best performers.

Also Scored 5-Star in Global NCAP

This is not the first time Dzire has shown its strength in safety. In November 2024, even the same fourth-generation model had achieved a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP tests. It scored 14.17 out of 16 points in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test. In the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, it achieved an impressive 15.29 out of 16. The sedan also achieved a very close to perfect dynamic score of 23.57 out of 24.

Child Safety Scores Are Impressive

Child safety has received an equal emphasis. The sedan scored 12 out of 12 for perfect child restraint system installation. It also scored 6 out of 13 points in Vehicle Assessment, which tests active safety assist technologies. These results indicate the brand’s increased concern about child safety and advanced crash protection.

Solid Safety Features Make All the Difference

The Dzire that was tested had major safety features like frontal airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and load limiters. There were knee airbags, thorax airbags, and head curtain airbags to provide improved side-impact protection. Side chest and pelvis airbags were also included to provide total protection.

For child passenger safety, the Dzire had ISOFIX anchors, built-in CRS, and an airbag cut-off switch — all of which had helped to make it very safe.

Mileage and Pricing

Dzire still boasts fantastic fuel efficiency. The petrol model provides mileage between 24.79 km/l to 25.71 km/l. For users who choose CNG, the figures are even higher, with mileage reaching 33.73 km/kg. When it comes to pricing, Dzire begins at ₹6.84 lakh and rises to ₹10.19 lakh in India.
