Renault Duster Electric: Renault is set to launch its next-gen Duster in India after its overseas success. The SUV, having already become a huge brand in international markets, will be available in petrol and full electric variants to woo a larger number of Indian buyers.

Petrol and Electric Powertrain

As per news, the new Renault Duster will have an electric powertrain option in addition to a standard petrol engine. Dacia’s CEO, Denis Le Vot, has confirmed that the electric variant of Duster will make it to the European market in the future, in line with previous reports about plans to electrify its best sellers.

Currently, Dacia’s lineup features only the Spring EV as its electric variant, although the company is trying to introduce models such as Bigster and Sandero in electric form in the next couple of years. This step could assist Renault in fulfilling increasing orders for electric cars in India.

CMF-BEV Platform for Electric Duster

The new-gen Duster will be based on the CMF-BEV platform, which is specifically designed for electric vehicles. This same platform is applied to Renault 5 and Renault 4 crossover models. It is essentially the electric variant of the current CMF-B platform found in the current Duster.

Vehicles built on this platform typically feature a front-wheel-drive configuration, but Renault has just unveiled a 4×4 concept with a rear-axle motor. The concept is likely to enhance the off-road performance of upcoming electric SUVs such as Duster.

Sandero to Follow as an EV

Following the Duster, Dacia will also convert its best-selling Sandero hatchback into an electric vehicle. It has already planned to launch its next-generation model in 2027 with a complete electric powertrain.

Design and Features

The new Renault Duster design will be more contemporary and taut in appearance compared to the Dacia Duster offered in Europe. The front appearance will be given a new look with a novel pattern grille in place of the aged radiator grille. Dacia’s rhombus emblem will be replaced with an aggressive RENAULT badge on the grille, making it feel more premium.
