Maruti e-Vitara: Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce its first-ever electric SUV, the e-Vitara, which has already created huge excitement among buyers. Production has started, and while exports have begun, the Indian launch is awaited with curiosity and anticipation.

Maruti Suzuki has launched its first electric SUV, e-Vitara. The company is starting with exports initially, shipping the model to Japan, Europe, and almost 100 countries. The Indian launch will follow, but the increasing hype demonstrates how eagerly people are anticipating it.
When Will Maruti e-Vitara Launch in India
Though Maruti hasn’t announced a specific launch date, it has stated that the SUV will enter the Indian market by the end of the current financial year, that is, a launch before March 2026. The launch timeline was hit with supply issues of rare earth magnets and worldwide shipment delays. Nevertheless, the company believes that they can launch it within this financial year.
Key Features of Maruti e-Vitara
The SUV has been designed on the Heartect-e platform and will come in two battery pack options. Buyers will have either a 49kWh pack or a bigger 61kWh option. Both utilize advanced LFP blade cells from BYD, famous for their durability and performance. The range-leading 61kWh model also gets a dual-motor AWD system with AllGrip-e technology, meant to enhance grip and safety through automatic power delivery to the wheels.
Range and Power
Maruti promises the e-Vitara can cover more than 500 km of driving on a single charge, especially with the bigger 61kWh battery and AWD system. The 49kWh variant will feature a single motor outputting 144 bhp, while the 61kWh single-motor model produces 174 bhp. Both come with 189Nm of torque. The AWD variant includes a second motor of 65 bhp, increasing power output to 184 bhp and 300Nm of torque, providing strong performance for city cruising and highway driving.
