Maruti Bringing New SUVs: If you are looking to purchase an SUV and have the patience to wait, Maruti Suzuki has a few thrilling launches in store. From its first electric vehicle ever to new hybrid models and a three-row Grand Vitara, the company is working towards a busy couple of years. Here’s what is on the cards soon.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara (Electric SUV)

Maruti Suzuki is entering the electric vehicle market with the e Vitara, which is expected to hit the roads by September. It will be the first electric vehicle for the company and will provide two battery packs that can deliver more than 500 km on a single charge. The SUV will support fast charging as well and will be produced in Gujarat. It will be retailed through Nexa dealerships and exported to international markets. The e Vitara will also come equipped with a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, big touchscreen, drive modes, automatic climate control, and six airbags.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

A hybrid variant of the much-loved Fronx is said to be in the making. A camouflaged test vehicle sporting a hybrid badge on the rear tailgate was seen recently, leading to speculation that it might get a fuel-sipping smart hybrid powertrain similar to the global Dzire hybrid model. Although launch information remains undisclosed, this SUV is expected to deliver improved mileage and efficiency compared to the standard version.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo

Another new SUV due to arrive is the Escudo, a fresh five-seater due to appear a step below the Grand Vitara. It will be marginally longer and is likely to use the same power units as the Grand Vitara. The SUV will be sold through Arena dealerships and may appear in a few months. Nested between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, it will appeal to customers seeking a bit more room and premium feel in the mid-segment.

7-Seater Grand Vitara

To match three-row contenders like the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a 7-seater model of the Grand Vitara. This longer version will come with more interior space and more features. Yet, it will most probably have the same engine performance as the existing two-row model. It’s set to arrive soon and will be the perfect option for bigger families seeking an loaded-up SUV.

Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV

Aside from bigger SUVs, Maruti Suzuki is working on a brand-new micro SUV that should reach the market sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. The new model will compete with the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch and will possibly have a very powerful hybrid powertrain. It will be an affordable but contemporary vehicle in the expanding entry-level SUV segment.
