Every time we think of buying a family car, the first things that come to our mind are space, comfort and features. Kia has redefined this concept in an even more spectacular way with its new offering Kia Carens Clavis. This is a premium and SUV-like MPV that comes with a different style and features than the existing Kia Carens.
If you are wondering what is the difference between the two, then let’s know everything related to design, features and engine that makes this comparison interesting.

Design
Talking about the design, Carens Clavis has come up with a bold and SUV-like aesthetic. Following Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, it has L-shaped LED DRLs, a connected light bar and ‘Ice Cube’ headlamps, which give it an electric car-like look. Also, its bumpers are more sculpted, which makes it look more muscular.
On the other hand, the standard Carens has a more simple and MPV-like design, with soft curves and minimal lines. From the rear, the Clavis gets ‘Starmap’ LED tail-lamps, while the Carens has a basic rear design. The Clavis runs on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Carens comes with 16-inch wheels. Also, the exclusive Ivory Silver colour of the Clavis makes it more unique.
Interior
Talking about the interior, Carens Clavis seems a class ahead here too. It has a 26.6-inch dual display (digital instrument cluster + infotainment screen), which is a big attraction for tech-lovers. Apart from this, it has luxury features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, Bose premium sound system and air purifier, which are not available in Carens.
Another special feature is that the second-row seats in the Clavis are one-touch folding (power-operated), making it easy to access the third-row. Clavis is also ahead in terms of safety – it has features like Level 2 ADAS (autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, 360-degree camera). On the other hand, the standard Carens only has basic safety features, such as a rear view camera.

Engine
When it comes to engines, both MPVs are identical—both get 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. However, the Clavis also has the option of a manual transmission with the turbo-petrol engine, which could be a good option for driving enthusiasts.
