Kia Carens: Kia is ready to cause a splash in India with its cheapest 7-seater electric car. The Carens Clavis EV is set to turn heads with fashionable looks, extended driving range, and high-end features drawn from fan-favorite models such as the Creta Electric. Kia will unveil it on July 15, 2025, following confirmation of details earlier this year when the petrol and diesel versions launched for sale.

Interior Details

Although Kia has not revealed all the details about the EV’s cabin, its interior is likely to be identical to its petrol counterpart. It will retain the same central console, new steering wheel design, and six and seven-seat seating arrangements. Kia will probably maintain the interior as contemporary and utilitarian for family buyers.

Features to Expect

Carens Clavis EV is being positioned as a loaded MPV. It will feature two 12.3-inch displays — one for infotainment and another for the digital driver display. Some of the comforts may also include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital key, and wireless charging. Ventilated and powered seats will further upscale it, while technology such as V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle), V2L (vehicle-to-load), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will increase its appeal among premium EV buyers.

Battery and Range

Kia can employ the same front axle-mounted electric motor that’s used in the Hyundai Kona EV. This would come along with a 42 kWh battery pack. A single charge will provide a range of 400 to 500 km, which appears decent for an electric MPV in this class. Creta Electric with the same battery gets around 392 km, so customers might witness an increase in range here.

Exterior Styling

The Carens Clavis EV’s design will remain true to its petrol counterpart, as familiar as possible for customers. Electric-specific features will, however, be added, such as a shut-off front grille, fresh alloy wheels, and thinner LED lights. Spy photos feature a charging port tastefully positioned in the middle, a common Kia EV feature. Generally, its appearance will suit Kia’s electric design language.

Price and Competition

Kia can launch this EV for about Rs.20 lakh ex-showroom, the same as Hyundai Creta Electric, but a bit lower than BYD’s eMax7. With this feature, cabin space, and pricing, the Carens Clavis EV will be a big player in the rapidly growing electric 7-seater market in India.
