India’s first solar car, 125 km range, initial price Rs 3.25 lakh

Solar Car: Vayve Mobility, a startup based in Pune, has unveiled the nation’s inaugural solar car at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This article will provide comprehensive details regarding this innovative vehicle.

Boasting a range of 125 kilometers

The Nova variant of the Vayve Eva solar car is equipped with a 9 kWh battery pack, boasting a range of 125 kilometers. The Stella variant features a 14 kWh battery pack with a range of 175 kilometers, while the Vega variant is powered by an 18 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 250 kilometers.

Solar roof panel can extend the vehicle’s range

The company asserts that the solar roof panel can extend the vehicle’s range by an additional 10 kilometers each day. The car has a maximum speed of 70 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 5 seconds. According to the manufacturer, the operational cost is approximately 50 paise per kilometer.

Design, features and technology

The vehicle’s design includes air inlet channels on the bumper, complemented by connected daytime running lights (DRL) and circular headlights. The interior of the solar electric vehicle is also noteworthy, featuring a touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning, a two-spoke steering wheel, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a glass roof.

Price range and booking

The company has set the initial ex-showroom price at Rs 3.25 lakh, along with a rental scheme. The top-spec variant is available for Rs 5.99 lakh. The car will be offered in three variants: Nova, Stella, and Vega, with bookings currently open. A token amount of Rs 5,000 is required to secure a reservation.
