Hyundai Venue: The Indian compact SUV market is set to see a significant transformation. Three of India’s biggest automakers — Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai — are ready to launch their brand-new compact SUVs, and every one of them will have something new in the segment. If you’re considering purchasing a new SUV, waiting awhile might make you a shrewder bargain.

Mahindra XUV3XO EV May Be a Gamechanger

Mahindra has been putting the XUV3XO EV through rigorous testing, and its official launch will be around late 2025 or early 2026. This all-electric compact SUV is poised to compete with chart-toppers such as the Tata Nexon EV and the new Kia Syros EV.

The XUV3XO EV will probably be priced in the region of ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom), which places it competitively among electric SUV offerings. Mahindra will pack this model with contemporary styling and EV features, positioning it as a compelling choice in a fast-evolving segment.

Hyundai Venue New Generation Packs Tech and Style

Hyundai is scheduled to launch the second-generation model of its hit Venue compact SUV. Launch may take place around the forthcoming festive season later this year in 2025. Spy photos of the car testing on Indian roads indicate that there are going to be significant changes on the outside.

Inside, the new-gen Venue will bring in an array of new features. Some of the highlight additions may be Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, and 360-degree camera system — all in the direction of increasing safety and comfort.

The SUV could come with three powertrains under the bonnet:

  • 1.2-litre petrol
  • 1.5-litre CRDi diesel
  • 1.0-litre turbo GDi petrol

This diversity in engine options will appeal to a broad variety of customers, ranging from urban commuters to long-distance highway travelers.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid will Provide High Mileage

Maruti Suzuki is working to introduce a hybrid variant to its Fronx lineup. The new Fronx Hybrid may enter dealerships by the end of 2025. It will have the company’s HEV-series hybrid motor, which will make it fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly.

Design and interior wise, the facelift version of the Fronx will get significant updates. In addition to a new external design, buyers can look forward to a new cabin and improved features.

The Fronx Hybrid is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine. According to reports in the media, it is likely to achieve a whopping mileage of up to 30 km per litre — a big selling point among fuel-saving consumers.

What to Expect from These Launches

Each of these upcoming compact SUVs caters to a different segment: Mahindra’s XUV3XO targets the EV crowd, Hyundai’s Venue upgrade aims for feature lovers, and Maruti’s Fronx Hybrid appeals to efficiency seekers. While none of the models are officially launched yet, the buzz around them indicates that they could set new benchmarks in their categories.
