Hyundai’s popular SUV is showing no signs of slowing down. For yet another month, it has taken the crown as the company’s best-selling model, beating out nine other Hyundai cars. Over 15,000 people brought home this SUV in May, highlighting its strong hold on the market. Let’s take a closer look at how Hyundai’s entire lineup performed last month.
Creta Leads Yet Again
The Hyundai Creta remains the top choice for SUV buyers in India. In May 2025, Hyundai sold 14,860 units of the Creta, including its electric variant. That’s a slight rise of 1% from May 2024, when sales stood at 14,662 units. This consistent growth reflects just how popular and reliable the Creta continues to be in a crowded SUV market.
Venue, Exter, and Aura Secure Strong Spots
The Hyundai Venue took the second position in the sales list with 7,520 units sold. Nonetheless, it was down by 19% from this time last year. Exter came in at third place with 5,899 units sold, down 23% from 2024. At least, on the positive side, the Hyundai Aura took the fourth position with 5,225 units sold, boasting a remarkable 18% sales increase from the same period last year.
Falling Sales for i10, i20, and Verna
Sales didn’t look great for some of Hyundai’s other models. The Grand i10, in fifth place, saw 4,344 units sold, down 18% from last year. The i20 followed with 4,090 units—marking a 21% decline. Meanwhile, the Verna struggled the most among these three, selling just 930 units and posting a sharp 33% drop.
Slower Movement for Alcazar, Tucson, and Ioniq 5
Hyundai Alcazar was next with 922 units sold, slipping 2% compared to May 2024. Tucson sales were especially low at just 60 units, a steep fall of 64%. The biggest drop, however, came from the Ioniq 5, which managed to sell only 11 units—a staggering 74% fall from the previous year.
What These Cars Cost
Hyundai’s top-selling SUV, the Creta, is priced between ₹11.11 lakh and ₹20.5 lakh, depending on the variant. Its electric version comes in at ₹17.99 lakh to ₹23.5 lakh. The Venue starts at ₹7.94 lakh, while the Exter is the most affordable of the bunch, starting from ₹6.21 lakh. These prices offer plenty of choices for customers with different budgets.
