Honda, renowned for its reliable and powerful motorcycles, has now embarked on a new chapter in the electric segment. The company has introduced its first electric motorcycle, the Honda WN7, in Europe. The ‘W’ in the bike’s name stands for “Be the Wind,” reflecting its breezy design. The ‘N’ stands for naked, signifying its street-fighter look, and the ‘7’ represents its output category.

130-Kilometer Range and Charging

This electric motorcycle is based on the EV Fun concept presented at EICMA 2024. The Honda WN7 features a fixed lithium-ion battery that offers a range of over 130 kilometers on a single full charge. Its biggest highlight is its fast charging capability. It can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes using a CCS2 fast charger, while it takes less than 3 hours to fully charge at home.

Performance that rivals 600cc bikes

Honda claims that the WN7’s performance is so impressive that it can rival 600cc petrol motorcycles. In terms of torque, it boasts the same power as 1000cc motorcycles. Its smooth and quiet performance and powerful acceleration could set a new benchmark for electric motorcycles. This bike offers more than just a model, but a new experience.

Modern Features and Stunning Design

The WN7 showcases its electric vehicle aesthetic with striking elegance. Its sleek design, with body curves and lines, makes it distinct from any existing Honda petrol bike. A 5-inch TFT screen sits in the center of the dashboard, offering smartphone integration via Honda RoadSync. This allows you to easily manage navigation, music, and call notifications.

Honda’s Future Plans

Honda has also made it clear that the WN7 is not just a model. The company has pledged to make all its motorcycles carbon-neutral by 2040, and aims to achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2050. The Honda WN7 is the first and most important step towards this lofty goal.

Currently, this bike has been launched in the European market, and there’s no official announcement of its launch date in India. However, given the success of the WN7 and the growing demand for electric vehicles in India, it’s expected that it will soon be seen on Indian roads.
