VinFast:Vietnamese company VinFast is poised to make a strong foray into India’s expanding EV space. With two new electric SUVs to be launched in a month, the company is looking to provide affordable yet capable options for Indian consumers. Bookings have begun, and VinFast will challenge the likes of Tata, Mahindra, and Hyundai.
Booking Starts at ₹21,000
VinFast has started taking bookings for its new electric SUVs VF6 and VF7. Customers can book the vehicles on the company’s website by remitting ₹21,000 as an advance token amount. The advance amount is fully refundable. Both models will have their official launch in August 2025.
Made in Tamil Nadu
Both electric SUVs will be manufactured in VinFast’s new factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. VF6 is a cost-effective option while VF7 is a premium SUV. These two models have been designed to rival in-demand electric SUVs already available.
VinFast VF6
VF6 comes in two variants, namely Eco and Plus. The Eco variant provides 178 bhp of power and 250 Nm torque along with a 399 km range on full charge. The Plus variant provides 204 bhp power and 310 Nm torque. The Plus version, however, provides a lesser range of 381 km. Both variants have a 59.6 kWh battery.
VinFast VF7
VF7 is bigger and more powerful. Two variants are available for it too. The Eco model is equipped with a 75.3 kWh battery, provides 204 bhp power, 310 Nm torque, and can go up to 450 km on a single charge. The Plus version is more sophisticated still. It comes with dual motors and an all-wheel drive system that produces 354 bhp power and 500 Nm of torque. The range for this variant is claimed to be 431 km.
Showrooms in 27 Cities
VinFast will open 32 dealerships in 27 cities in the first phase. They are Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Surat, Coimbatore, and some others. The brand has signed up with 13 dealer companies for this purpose.
