Ather 450S 3.7 kWh : Ather Energy’s name has now become a symbol of trust in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. The company has now launched a new variant of its popular 450S scooter which has a bigger 3.7 kWh battery. This model is for those users who want long range but do not need more expensive features. With a balance of price and performance, this new variant has brought new hope among the customers.
Price and availability
The ex-showroom price of the Ather 450S 3.7 kWh variant has been kept at ₹ 1,45,999 in Bengaluru. Its price is slightly different in different cities. Like ₹ 1,48,047 in Delhi, ₹ 1,48,258 in Mumbai and ₹ 1,47,312 in Chennai has been fixed. The company has started its booking and deliveries are expected to start across India from next month.
Battery and range
This scooter now has a 3.7 kWh battery which gives a range of up to 161 km according to IDC. This range is much higher than the old 2.9 kWh variant, which offered a range of only 115 km. This change will now give users confidence in long distance travel as well.
Motor and performance
The battery has become bigger but the motor has been kept the same old. It has a 5.4 kW mid-mounted motor which gives a torque of 22 Nm. This scooter catches the speed of 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is 90 kmph which is quite good for driving in the city. It has four ride modes – SmartEco, Eco, Ride and Sport which can be changed according to your need and battery savings.
Design and look
No change has been made in terms of design. It comes with the same sharp look and style which has become the identity of Ather scooters. Sharp LED headlight, attractive side profile and sleek finish give it a modern look.
Features and Technology
This scooter has a 7-inch DeepView display which is equipped with features like auto brightness, Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Through AtherStack Pro software, it also gets many smart features like AutoHold, FallSafe, Find My Scooter, Theft Alert, Auto Turn Indicators, Emergency Stop Signal and Amazon Alexa support.
Charging and Network
It takes about 4.5 hours to charge the scooter up to 80% with the home charger provided by the company. This scooter is also connected to Ather’s fast charging network which is now available at more than 3300 locations in India. This reduces the worry of charging even on long journeys.
Battery Warranty
Ather also gives its customers a battery warranty of 8 years or up to 80,000 km with this variant, which includes a guarantee of 70% battery health. This is beneficial for those who want to ride the scooter for a long time.
