New Midsize SUVs: India’s midsize SUV segment is getting hot quickly. As more and more families and young consumers pick SUVs for space, comfort, and features, car manufacturers are queuing up promising launches. In the next 12 months, seven big players will launch new midsize SUVs, offering customers an unprecedented range of options.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo

Maruti Suzuki will widen its midsize SUV lineup with the Escudo. Launching on September 3, this model will be retailed through Arena stores. It will take cues from best-selling Grand Vitara and target price-conscious customers.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Alongside the Escudo, Maruti Suzuki is preparing the e Vitara. Production has already begun in India for global markets. With a claimed driving range of over 500 km, this all-electric SUV will soon make its debut and strengthen Maruti’s presence in the EV space.

New Gen Kia Seltos

The new-generation Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on Indian roads. Although the release is anticipated by 2026, the SUV will offer a new design and an entirely refreshed cabin. It is also expected to have a hybrid version following the initial launch.

New Renault Duster

Renault is reviving the classic Duster in India. Based on the CMF-B+ platform, the SUV will be introduced in early 2026. It may begin with petrol engines but hybrid tech is also in the pipeline, so the new Duster will be more sophisticated than its predecessor.

Nissan Midsize SUV

Nissan will introduce a new midsize SUV on the CMF-B+ platform. It is pitched as a contemporary successor to the Terrano and will be sharing parts with the future Renault Duster. The prototypes have already undergone testing in India, and it is due to arrive next year.

Tata Sierra

Tata Motors is bringing back the Sierra nameplate in an electric guise. The Sierra EV will be launched before the current financial year ends. Although the initial variant will be electric, Tata also intends to introduce petrol and diesel versions by 2026.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift

Mahindra is getting ready with a mid-life facelift for the XUV700. Due in early 2026, the facelift will have moderate cosmetic revisions, updated interiors, and added features. The powertrains are expected to be unchanged.
