Triumph has fired up the Indian bike scene by launching its new Speed Triple 1200 RS. Priced from ₹20.39 lakh ex-showroom, this bike promises performance and advanced technology that can take on Ducati and KTM rivals in its segment.

Design and Color Choices

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS looks just as sharp and aggressive as before but now gets three fresh color themes. One option is a stealthy all-black style, while another combines grey and red for a sporty appeal. There is also a grey shade highlighted with yellow accents. Lighter alloy wheels have been added, which help reduce the bike’s overall weight and make handling more responsive.

Electronics and Features

Triumph has made key updates to its electronics to improve riding feel. For the first time, the bike gets a steering damper for higher-speed stability. Riders can also adjust the wheelie control separately from traction control, giving experienced riders more freedom to set up their preferences. Another major update is the new Ohlins EC3 electronic suspension, which adjusts on the go and handles Indian road conditions better than before.

Hardware Changes

Triumph has switched to new Pirelli Supercorsa V3 tyres, replacing the earlier Metzeler Racetec RR units. Although the tyre size stays at 17 inches, the new rubber promises stronger grip and improved performance on both road and track conditions. These changes add confidence to the rider during hard cornering and quick direction changes.

Engine and Power

The bike continues with its 1160cc inline triple engine but now makes a higher output of 183 bhp and 128 Nm torque. This slight bump in power comes thanks to a new free-flow exhaust system. Even though the weight has gone up by 1 kg to 199 kg, the lighter wheels and extra horsepower balance the performance well.

Market Position and Price

Compared to European rivals like Ducati Streetfighter V4 and KTM 1390 Super Duke R, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS still comes at a more competitive price. With a starting price of ₹20.39 lakh ex-showroom, it offers great value for riders who want an aggressive streetfighter with proven engineering.
