Tata Punch EV: Electric vehicles are gaining popularity in India due to lower operating expenses and green credentials. Government subsidies are making EV ownership more accessible. Up until now, EVs were pricey, but the year 2025 will witness the introduction of numerous affordable models. These new entrants will have chic designs, contemporary features, and a good driving range — all under ₹15 lakh.
Tata Punch EV
Tata has already launched the Punch EV, but a new long-range version will follow soon. It can have a driving range of more than 400 km, making it suitable for city and highway driving. The vehicle will continue with its aggressive design, touchscreen infotainment system, and 5-star safety rating. Even with the feature upgrades, pricing is likely to remain below ₹15 lakh, which makes it a big contender in this segment.
Hyundai Exter EV
Hyundai is developing an electric variant of the Exter following the success of its petrol counterpart. It will retain the SUV-inspired design and lightweight body. A 350 km range with premium features such as a sunroof, digital instrument cluster, and connected tech has been reported. The launch is anticipated for early 2026, but the beginning price may be as high as ₹12 lakh, presenting excellent value to first-time EV customers.
Maruti Suzuki eVX Entry Variant
Maruti is making its entry into the EV market with the eVX SUV. Although the top-end models are likely to cross ₹15 lakh, the entry variant should remain below this figure. It will have a smaller battery, yet deliver useful ground clearance and aggressive looks. Through this launch, Maruti will be looking to marry affordability with utility, thus becoming a worthy player in the EV segment.
MG Comet EV
MG currently retails the Comet EV as India’s most budget electric vehicle. A long-range variant is already in the works. It might provide a mileage of more than 250 km on a single fill-up without sacrificing its compact size and intelligent interior options. This variant will appeal to urban commuters who desire a budget-friendly, trendy electric vehicle without giving up on advanced tech.
Citroen eC3 Plus
Citroen is planning to roll out a new version of its eC3 hatchback. The new model could have extra comforts such as a rear wiper and powered mirrors. It could also see an increase in range. Priced for comfort and space while staying below the ₹15 lakh mark, the eC3 Plus plans to pack more features. It’s made for people who need comfort and space without spending too much on an EV.
