Its Ertiga CNG was sold an average of 10,826 units per month in FY25, and a total of 129,920 units annually. The number places it as the top-selling CNG car in the nation, outpacing other popular cars such as WagonR and Dzire. Maruti has 17 models in its portfolio, and 12 of them are available with a CNG option. In the financial year 2025, 591,730 CNG cars were sold in total by the company. Excluding the Ertiga, two others crossed one lakh sales. WagonR had sold 102,128 units, while Dzire sold 89,015 units. Other products such as Brezza (70,928 units), Eeco (59,520 units), Fronx (42,051 units), Baleno (24,220 units), Grand Vitara (24,037 units), XL6 (19,879 units), Swift (18,054 units), Alto (6,210 units), and Celerio (4,193 units) helped Maruti to maintain a strong position in the CNG segment.

Ertiga CNG engine and mileage

The Ertiga is favored as it provides decent performance at an affordable running cost. It has a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103PS of power and 137Nm of torque. The CNG model has a staggering mileage of 26.11 km per kg, whereas the petrol model provides about 20.51 km per litre. These numbers have convinced buyers to opt for Ertiga for daily and family purposes without any concern for fuel charges.
