Amarnath Yatra 2026: There is a big news for pilgrims. For the upcoming 57-day Amarnath Yatra starting on July 3rd, the Transport Department has established fixed fares for buses, taxi-cabs, auto-rickshaws, e-autos, and e-rickshaws for pilgrims coming from other states. This initiative aims to provide convenience and transparency to passengers. Fares have been set for key routes like Srinagar to Baltal, Baltal to Jammu, Srinagar to Pahalgam, Pahalgam to Jammu, and Srinagar to Jammu. The department emphasizes that vehicles overcharging will face fines, and repeated violations will lead to permit cancellations.
New Fare List for Kashmir Valley Route
– Srinagar to Baltal: Bus – Rs 175 per passenger, Taxi – Rs 386
– Baltal to Jammu: Bus – Rs 643 per passenger, Taxi – Rs 1421
– Srinagar to Pahalgam: Bus – Rs 173, Taxi – Rs 384
– Pahalgam to Jammu: Bus – Rs 434, Taxi – Rs 959
– Srinagar to Jammu: Bus – Rs 468, Taxi – Rs 1035
Non-compliance with the regulations may result in permit revocation. The government takes actions periodically to prevent pilgrims from other states traveling for the annual Baba Amarnath Yatra from being overcharged in public transport. Transport Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan warns that failure to adhere to the order will lead to permit cancellation.
For all auto and e-rickshaw drivers, it is mandatory to display clear and intact fare charts inside their vehicles. Any instances of fare exceeding the set rates will face strict consequences.
Regarding minibus fares in Jammu city, rates have been set from Rs 8 to Rs 18 for different routes like Railway Station to Bus Stand, Medical College, Bahu Fort, and City Chowk. RTO Sardar Jasmeet Singh emphasizes that fares must align with the Transport Department’s schedule, and vehicles not complying will be penalized upon complaint or investigation.
