Government to Reward ₹25,000 for Helping Road Accident Victims, Here’s the Update

New Delhi: The Delhi government has decided to implement the Central Government’s Raahveer Scheme in Delhi. This scheme is expected to be implemented soon. Under the scheme, citizens who assist those seriously injured in road accidents will receive a cash reward of ₹25,000.

Previously, during the Aam Aadmi Party government, this scheme was limited to ₹2,000. Furthermore, it has been discontinued for some time. This scheme will prove to be very important for humanitarian purposes. People will come forward to help victims on the roads. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has provided important information regarding this scheme.

People will be able to demonstrate humanity.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the Central Government has established a financial reward system to encourage this humanitarian initiative. This will enable ordinary citizens to help accident victims without fear and demonstrate humanity. The Chief Minister stated that the objective of this scheme is to encourage the public to provide medical care to road accident victims within the golden hour.

The Central Government’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways believes that if more people come forward to help, the death rate in road accidents can be reduced. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that people often refrain from helping due to fear of legal complications or police action, but this will no longer be the case. This scheme will remove that fear and encourage people to come forward.

Life will be a boon

CM Rekha Gupta said that in a metropolis like Delhi, where thousands of vehicles ply on the roads every day, access to medical assistance within the golden hour can prove to be the deciding factor between life and death. This scheme can also help save many families from untimely grief.

With incentives and legal protection for those who help, more people will be encouraged to immediately take accident victims to the hospital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed confidence that the Delhi government will strengthen both road safety and human sensitivity by effectively implementing this scheme.

Awarded for transporting victims to the hospital

CM Rekha Gupta stated that under the Rahveer scheme, anyone who provides immediate assistance to a serious road accident victim and transports them to a hospital or trauma centre within the golden hour will be eligible for the award.

A cash award of ₹25,000 will be provided in each case under the Rahveer scheme. Even if someone saves the lives of more than one victim in a single accident, they will receive a maximum of ₹25,000.
