Foreigners Can Now Make Payments in India Using Scanners, This Facility is Offered

UPI One World: The era of digitalisation is rapidly expanding across the country. A large portion of India’s population now trusts digital payments. People make payments through UPI at everything from street vendors to grocery stores, restaurants, and malls. But now, UPI is about to expand as a means of India’s digital revolution.

Foreigners visiting India can also use UPI. People returning from abroad will be able to make payments through UPI without any hassle. This will further increase the use of UPI. The National Payments Corporation of India has given a significant gift to foreign guests.

Visitors from more than 40 countries attending this summit will be able to use UPI even without an Indian bank account or mobile number. NPCI has introduced a special service for this purpose.

NPCI launches this facility

NPCI has introduced the UPI One World wallet service. This will enable foreign travellers to make payments using UPI for their purchases in India. They will also be relieved of the hassles of carrying cash and exchanging foreign currency. This means that foreign tourists and business owners can easily make real-time payments by scanning the UPI QR code at a shop, just like us.

The UPI One World Wallet is available. Foreign travellers can easily access it from the NPCI pavilion at New Delhi Airport or Bharat Mandapam. An Indian SIM card or an Indian bank account is not required.

It is a secure digital wallet that allowtravellersrs to load money from their international cards. If any remaining funds remain in the wallet after the trip, they can transfthem it back to the original account as per the rules.

How to Use UPI One World

Did you know that foreigners can easily use the UPI One World Wallet?

First, you need to download the CheqUPI app from the Play Store or App Store.

Then, you need to upload the required documents, such as your name, email address, and passport/visa.

After this, take a selfie in the app and set your unique UPI PIN.

Then, add money from your international debit or credit card, and you’re ready to use the digital wallet.

For your information, transaction limits have been set in this One World Wallet for the convenience of foreigners. Foreigners can load up to ₹25,000 per day.

A maximum of ₹50,000 will be allowed within a month. This initiative not only strongly presents India’s digital ecosystem to the world but also connects the tradition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ with modern technology.
