Ration Card Update: Ration cards are a crucial government document for poor and middle-class families. They allow people to access subsidized rations, free food grains, and benefits from various government schemes. However, sometimes, due to technical reasons or changes in records, some people’s names are removed from their ration cards. When this happens, the family may face difficulties in receiving rations and other benefits.
Therefore, it is essential to periodically check that your name and other information on your ration card are correct. If your name has been removed or incorrectly deleted for any reason, you can have it added back. This entire process is quite simple and can be completed online in most states.

Reasons why a name might be removed from a ration card
There can be several reasons for a name being removed from a ration card. The name of a family member is removed upon their death. Sometimes, names are removed due to data entry errors or technical problems in the system. If a member has accidentally obtained two ration cards, the system may consider it a duplicate and remove the name. Additionally, names can be accidentally removed when a new member is added to the family or during updates to Aadhaar and ration card data.
