Quick EPF Withdrawal: Get Your PF Money in 8 Days Without Employer Consent

If you are a salaried employee and have your money deposited in EPF, then this news is a big relief for you. The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has significantly digitised and improved its system. With the changes made under EPFO 3.0, withdrawing PF funds has now become much easier and faster than before.

The central government has informed the Rajya Sabha that it now takes an average of just 8 days to process an online EPF claim. This means that if your details are correct and your KYC is complete, the money can be credited to your account within a week.

No more waiting for PF claims:

Earlier, EPF claims used to take weeks or months to process. There would be file blockage, delay in getting employer approval, or funds would get stuck due to profile errors. However, this situation is changing with the reforms implemented in EPFO 3.0. According to government data, in the financial year 2025-26, till January 23, 2023, EPFO has settled over 85.3 million claims. This number is higher than the previous year, which indicates that the system has become faster and more efficient.

Transfer claims can be made without company approval:

The biggest advantage of EPFO 3.0 is for those whose e-KYC is fully updated. Such employees can now claim PF transfer directly online without the approval of their old or new employer. This will be especially beneficial for those employees who change jobs frequently or who cannot contact their old company. Now employees can complete their work themselves through the portal.

Employees can now edit their profiles themselves:

EPFO has simplified the process of profile correction from January 2025. Employees can now update or correct their name, date of birth or other important information themselves. Earlier, this required repeated visits to the office, but now the process is online and much hassle-free. According to the government, till January 2026, EPFO has processed over 27 lakh profile correction requests.

Pension can be availed from any bank in the country:

A centralized pension payment system has also been implemented under EPFO 3.0. This means that pensioners will no longer have to depend on any specific bank or branch. They will be able to receive their pension from any bank in the country. This facility will be extremely beneficial especially for senior pensioners.

Now UAN will be created using your facial image:

The government has further expanded the use of technology by introducing the face authentication system. Face authentication has been made mandatory for generating UAN for new employees from August 2025. Through the UMANG app, employees will be able to create and activate their UAN using Aadhaar-based face verification. This will eliminate the need to rely on employers and will ensure a more secure identity.

Passbook access will also be easier:

The Member Passbook Lite feature has been added in EPFO 3.0. Employees can now easily view their recent transactions, which will help them check whether their funds have been credited and if there are any discrepancies. All these changes under EPFO 3.0 are designed to make life easier for employees and pensioners. With a digital system, faster claim processing and reduced paperwork, withdrawing PF funds is no longer as difficult as it was before. If your KYC is complete and the information is correct, now the entire PF money will be credited to your account within a few days.
