Driving License Update: A driving license is considered extremely important for vehicle drivers. It is also recognized as a crucial document. If you are thinking of changing your photo or signature on your driver’s license, you don’t need to go through any hassle. You can do this online from the comfort of your home.
After applying on the transport department’s website, the new license will reach your home in approximately 7 days. To avail of this facility, your mobile number must be linked to your Aadhaar card. Also, your old license should be a smart card. If your Aadhaar card has a photo, it will also be directly updated on your driving license.

According to officials, many people provide old or incorrect photos while getting their license made, which leads to identification problems in the future. Keeping this in mind, this online facility has been launched.
How to apply online
First, go to the official website of the transport service and select the online services option. Then select the service related to the driving license and choose your state (e.g., Uttar Pradesh). A list of online services will appear on the screen, where you should click on “Change of Photo and Signature in DL”. After that, enter your DL number, date of birth, and captcha to view your DL details. Click on “Confirm” for confirmation.
After entering the PIN code, your ARTO office will be automatically displayed. By entering your Aadhaar card number and OTP, you will reach the process of changing your photo and signature. Here, you will have to state the reason for the change, and some additional information may also be requested. After the application is accepted, you will receive an online slip. Then, fill in the application number, date of birth, and captcha, submit it, and upload your Aadhaar card photo.

A fee of Rs. 400 will be charged for changing the photo and signature on the driving license. According to officials, earlier, people had to visit the transport department multiple times to get this work done, and even then, the work was often incomplete. Now, with this process being completely online, it will save time and effort.
