Online Ration Card Application: Now you won’t need to visit the supply department offices to get a ration card. The government has made the process online, allowing people to apply through Common Service Centers (CSCs). After the application, eligibility will be checked, and if found eligible, a ration card will be issued.
According to District Supply Officer Anand Kumar Singh, there are a total of 7.30 lakh ration cardholders in the district, including approximately 30 lakh members. The government wants only eligible people to benefit from the scheme, so special emphasis is being placed on verification and KYC (Know Your Customer).

What to do to get a new ration card
To get a new ration card, you will have to apply online through a Common Service Center (CSC). An income certificate, Aadhaar card, and bank passbook will be required at the time of application. A copy of the online application must be submitted to the concerned regional supply office. After this, the department team will conduct a field verification of the applicant.
Free ration will be provided if found eligible
Families found eligible after verification will be issued a ration card. After this, five kilograms of ration per unit will be provided completely free of cost. This facility is being provided under the National Food Security Scheme.

The ration card will be canceled if KYC is not done
For those who already have a ration card, it has been made mandatory to complete KYC for all members. The ration cards of cardholders whose KYC is not complete may be canceled. KYC can be done at the ration dealer or the nearest center.
Which families are eligible?
Only those families whose annual income does not exceed three lakh rupees will be considered eligible for a ration card. The family should not own a four-wheeler vehicle, an air conditioner, or a gun license. In addition, the family should not own more than five acres of agricultural land or a house larger than 100 square meters.
