Virat Kohli back to number 1 spot of the ICC rankings
Even though Virat Kohli could not score his 54th ODI century in the first match of the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand, he has still become the number one batsman in ODI International cricket. Virat Kohli played an innings of 93 runs in 91 balls in Vadodara. He was also the player of the match. Before this ODI series, Rohit Sharma was the number one batsman in the ICC ODI rankings, but after the first match he has slipped to the third position.
Rohit Sharma was unable to play a big innings in Vadodara. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli played a strong innings. Apart from this, New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell has moved from third to second position. A strong innings was also seen from his bat in this match. Daryl Mitchell played an innings of 84 runs in 71 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma could only play an innings of 26 runs in 29 balls.
As such, he has lost his number one position. Rohit Sharma has slipped from first to third position.
