Engine
Starting with its engine, the biggest update is the new 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine (iTurbo). This engine is borrowed from the Nexon and now produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque in the Punch. This means easier overtaking, more confident highway driving, and better speed control even in the city. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard with this turbo petrol, making driving even smoother.

Punch CNG
Let me tell you that CNG is also very good news for buyers. The 2026 Tata Punch CNG now comes with AMT gearboxes and paddle shifters that are the first to be seen in this segment. Tata’s dual-cylinder CNG setup also preserves boot space, providing a 210-liter practical boot. This small thing makes a big difference in everyday use.
Safety
Talking about safety, Tata Punch has already achieved Bharat NCAP 5-star rating and safety has been further strengthened in the facelift. Now 6 airbags are standard in all variants, along with ESP, traction control and multiple drive modes. Tata believes that about 70% of Punch buyers are first-time car takers, so this safety package seems even more reliable.

Variants and Price
The 2026 Punch Facelift is available in petrol, turbo petrol and CNG— all three options. The price of Base Smart Petrol MT starts at ₹5.59 lakhs and goes to Accomplished CNG ₹9.29 lakhs. The Turbo Petrol Adventure variant is priced at ₹8.29 lakhs. Overall, the variant range is so that an option exists for every type of buyer.

Design Updates
If it comes to design, the facelift features a new front grille, reworked bumpers, new LED DRLs and a full-width LED light bar in the rear. Dual-tone alloy wheels complete the look. Talking inside, the new steering wheel, touch-based climate control, 8-speaker audio system and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers make it much safer and premium.
