Weather Warning: A severe cold wave is sweeping across Rajasthan, causing extreme cold. Dense fog and biting cold have made conditions very difficult for people. The continuous cold wave has led to a sharp drop in temperature and a feeling of intense chill. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the severe cold will continue for the next few days. A severe cold wave is expected in some parts of North India.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures have dropped below zero degrees Celsius in some places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. In Rajasthan, ice was seen in many areas of Jaisalmer in the morning. A similar scene was witnessed in the hill station of Mount Abu. Furthermore, the minimum temperature in Fatehpur, Sikar, has dropped below -2 degrees Celsius.

Schools closed in Jaipur and Sikar
Due to the increasing cold, the District Collectors of Jaipur and Sikar have issued orders to change school timings or declare holidays for government and private schools. The Jaipur District Collector has extended the winter vacation for students of classes 1 to 8. Schools for these classes will now remain closed until January 14th. The Sikar Collector has also announced holidays for young children in schools. Anganwadi centres will also remain closed.

IMD Red Alert
According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a warning of very dense fog and cold wave has been issued for Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh, and Alwar for the next 48 hours. The mercury has dropped below freezing in Mount Abu, and a layer of ice has begun to form in the fields.

Weather conditions in Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, a warning for cold wave to severe cold wave has been issued for isolated areas in parts of Rajasthan. In addition, the minimum temperature in Pratapgarh was recorded at 2 °C below zero, while in Barmer it was 1 °C below zero. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded at 1.2 degrees Celsius in Pilani, 1.7 degrees in Sikar, 1.9 degrees in Lunkaransar (Bikaner), 2 degrees in Jhunjhunu, and also 2 degrees in Churu. Minimum temperatures remained below 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.

Fog and Cold Wave Warning in 14 Districts
Rajasthan is currently experiencing a severe cold wave. The cold wave has affected daily life in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for fog and a cold wave in 14 districts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, there is little chance of relief from the cold in the coming days. The department says the state’s weather is likely to remain mostly dry for the next week. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures for the next three days. After that, a 2-3°C temperature rise is expected. In the northern parts of the state, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions and dense fog may persist in some areas for the next two to three days.
