Ladki Bahin Yojana: If you are a beneficiary of the Maharashtra government’s ambitious Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (CMML), this news holds significant significance for you. Social media and government circles are abuzz with rumors that the deadline for completing e-KYC has been extended to January 31, 2026.
However, the District Women and Child Development Department has yet to receive any formal official order in this regard, leading to confusion among beneficiaries. e-KYC Deadline

The Maha Yuti government made e-KYC mandatory to ensure transparency in the scheme and ensure that only eligible women receive the benefits. It began on September 18th, with the initial deadline set for November 18th. Due to incomplete KYC for millions of women, the government had extended the deadline to December 31, 2025. Now that that deadline has passed, sources are reporting that it may be extended to January 31, 2026.
The current status of the scheme is that the KYC facility is still active on the official website. However, until a written official order is issued, beneficiaries should maintain their vigilance and try to complete it as soon as possible.

Why is the process stalling in rural areas
Compared to urban areas, women in rural areas face several significant obstacles in completing their KYC. The most significant problem is technical issues, as millions of people access the portal simultaneously, often causing the website to slow down. Furthermore, poor internet connectivity in remote villages and errors in name or date of birth on Aadhaar cards and bank account documents are also hindering this complex process.
Given these problems and the large number of women, there is immense pressure on the administration to extend the deadline. The government’s primary objective is to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of this financial assistance due to technical reasons.

E-KYC facility available on the portal
If you wish to check or complete your KYC status, the government has provided this facility on the official portal https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. The administration has clearly stated that as soon as a formal order is received from headquarters, it will be immediately implemented at the district level.
The Women and Child Development Department has appealed to beneficiaries to wait for an official letter instead of relying on any unofficial information. If your KYC is already showing as successful, your financial installment is completely secure, and you need not worry.
