According to the government’s new guidelines, ration card e-KYC will now be required once every five years. Cardholders who completed this process a long time ago, especially in 2013 or earlier, will need to update their e-KYC as soon as possible. Failure to complete the e-KYC within the stipulated time may result in difficulties in receiving rations.

How to do Ration Card e-KYC online from home
Thanks to digital facilities, there is no need to go anywhere for a ration card e-KYC. This process can be completed from home using a smartphone and the internet. The Mera KYC and Aadhaar FaceRD apps are being used for this. After Aadhaar number and OTP verification, the e-KYC is completed through face authentication. This method is fast, secure, and completely paperless.

How to check e-KYC status
Many people want to know whether their e-KYC has been completed or not. For this, they can log in to the Mera KYC app and check the status after Aadhaar verification. If the status shows ‘Y’, it means the e-KYC is complete, while ‘N’ means the process is still pending.

For those who cannot use smartphones or apps, an offline option is also available. Such ration cardholders can visit their nearest fair price shop or Common Service Center to get their e-KYC done. They only need to carry their Aadhaar card and ration card with them.
