The former Pakistan head coach made huge claims over the Pakistan Cricket Board
Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie is back in the news. He abruptly resigned as head coach of the Pakistan Test team in December 2024. Gillespie subsequently leveled several serious allegations against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), including a lack of communication and disrespectful behavior.
Recently, Gillespie reignited the controversy during a question-and-answer session on the social media platform X. He openly stated that the PCB had dismissed his senior assistant coach, Tim Nielsen, without any prior notice or discussion with him. Gillespie called this completely unacceptable as head coach and stated that this incident, along with several other issues, had repeatedly caused him to feel disrespected, leading him to decide to step down.
Gillespie wrote, “I was the coach of the Pakistan Test team. The PCB dismissed our senior assistant coach without even consulting me. As head coach, I found this situation completely unacceptable. There were several other issues as well that left me feeling deeply humiliated.”
This isn’t the first time Gillespie has clashed with the PCB. Following his resignation, he alleged that the PCB had not paid him his full amount. However, the board dismissed these allegations, stating that Gillespie had breached his contract by failing to complete his four-month notice period.
