Monsoon Update – The weather is deteriorating, causing considerable distress to everyone. Dense fog in some areas and cloudy conditions due to a Western Disturbance are leading to spells of rain. Bihar and Jharkhand are also experiencing severe cold, with people seen warming themselves by bonfires.
In the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall has brought a cool change. The number of tourists enjoying the snowfall in the valleys of Kashmir has increased for the New Year. On January 2nd, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience snowfall and light rain. Light rain is also expected in Delhi.

Delhi Weather Forecast
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a slight increase in temperature is expected from January 1st, the first day of the new year. People are likely to get some relief from the cold. On Thursday, the minimum temperature is expected to be between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature around 20 degrees Celsius. Light rain is also possible in the city. Additionally, fog is expected in some areas.
Rain Expected in Rajasthan
According to the IMD, the weather in Rajasthan is likely to deteriorate due to a Western Disturbance. On Thursday, light to moderate rain is expected in the Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions, along with cold conditions. Dense to very dense fog may prevail in the northern, western, and eastern parts of the state during January 3rd.

Cold Wave in West Bengal
According to the Meteorological Department, several parts of West Bengal are experiencing a severe cold wave. The minimum temperature is being recorded below 10 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for continued cold weather in the sub-Himalayan districts for the next week.
Rain Expected in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, several states may experience rain on December 31st and January 1st. A light to moderate rain alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Meanwhile, on January 1st, there is a possibility of strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. Rain is possible in parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
