According to a government report, a total of 19,45,758 rooftop solar systems have been installed across the country as of December 9, 2025. These are benefiting 24,35,196 families. The number of people receiving zero electricity bills through this system is increasing.

The states with the highest number of solar systems installed so far are Gujarat with 4,93,161, followed by Maharashtra with 3,63,811, and Uttar Pradesh with 3,02,140. People in other states are also showing great enthusiasm for installing solar panels. Installing them eliminates the hassle of electricity bills.

End of electricity bill worries

The central government provides 300 units of free electricity under this scheme. It is also providing a substantial subsidy for installing solar panels. The government provides a subsidy of ₹30,000 for up to 2 kilowatts, ₹48,000 for up to 3 kilowatts, and ₹78,000 for more than 3 kilowatts. You can apply for the scheme in a few simple steps.
