The notification issued by MPPSC states that “The Assistant Professor Computer Science Examination-2025 is to be conducted on January 4, 2026, in two sessions. A link for downloading the admit card was published for this purpose. However, it has come to our notice that the mention of negative marking in point number 3 of the admit card for the said examination was included due to an error.”

What was the complete error?
The controversy began when the MPPSC uploaded the admit cards for the January 4, 2026 examination. When candidates downloaded the admit cards, they were surprised to see point number 3 of the instructions. The admit card stated that there was a provision for ‘negative marking’ in the examination. According to the instructions, one mark was to be deducted for each incorrect answer, and three marks were to be awarded for each correct answer.

This information spread on social media and among candidate groups, creating panic and uncertainty among examinees. The main reason was that the examination pattern does not provide for negative marking, and four marks are allotted to each question.
