Budget 2026 Update – Discussions about the central government’s Union Budget 2026 have already begun. Everyone’s eyes are on this year’s budget. The central government’s budget could prove to be a boon for the livelihoods of farmers. There are discussions that the government might open its coffers for farmers.
It is being speculated that the central government might increase the annual amount given under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to Rs. 10,000. This amount could then be disbursed in four instalmentsinstead of three. However, no official statement has been made regarding whether the instalment amount will increase.

Instalment May Increase
The central government is expected to increase not only the number of instalmentsbut also the amount under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. If Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman increases the amount under the scheme to Rs. 10,000 in Budget 2026, then four ininstalmentsould be fixed annually. Each insinstalmentuld be Rs. 2,500.
Most importantly, the interval between each instinstalmentd be three months. The instalment would be received every three months. The annual amount received would increase by Rs. 4,000. Currently, farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually in three installminstalments2,000 each. Now, everyone’s eyes are on the upcoming budget.

How many instalinstalmentsved so far?
The Modi government launched the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in 2019. Under this scheme, 21 instalmentsof Rs. 2,000 each have been received so far. Now, all farmers are eagerly awaiting the next instalment. The 22nd insinstalment expected before Holi.
If the annual amount is increased in the financial budget, then Rs. 2,500 could be transferred in the 22nd instinstalmente benefit of the instalment will only be given to those farmers who have completed the necessary formalities. If you have not completed the necessary procedures, the instalment amount will be withheld. The central government released the 21st instalment of โน2,000 on November 19, 2025. The central government launched this scheme to help farmers purchase fertilisers for agricultural purposes. The government’s objective is to increase agricultural production by providing financial assistance to farmers.
