Xiaomi 17 Ultra launched: China has seen the release of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. In the company’s flagship lineup, this is the fourth model. The fourth model in the company’s flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, was introduced in China on Thursday. It is the successor for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which debuted in the nation earlier this year. Compared to its predecessor, this smartphone has a number of changes, such as better batteries, chipsets, cameras, and performance. Qualcomm’s premium octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, developed on a 3nm technology, powers the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra. A 50-megapixel primary camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera make up the phone’s Leica-tuned rear camera combination.

Price and Availability of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The base model of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which has 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, starts at CNY 6,999 (about Rs. 90,000). At CNY 7,499 (about Rs. 96,000), the more expensive model comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In a similar vein, the premium model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 8,499 (about Rs. 1,09,000).

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, on the other hand, costs CNY 7,999 (about Rs. 1,02,000) for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage version and CNY 8,999  (approximately Rs. 1,15,000) for the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant. It is offered in black and off-white shades.

The new Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available for sale in China on December 27th through the Xiaomi online store. It is offered in black, white, cold smoky purple, and starry green (translated from Chinese) colors.

Details and Features of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra

HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16, powers the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It has a 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen with Dragon Crystal Glass 3 protection, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1,060 nits. Qualcomm’s premium octa-core 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and Adreno 840 GPU power the phone. Also, it has 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM.

The Leica-tuned triple rear camera set of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra includes a 50-megapixel LOFIC Omnivision 1050L primary shooter with a 1-inch sensor and optical image stabilization. Additionally, it has a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.2x to 4.3x continuous optical zoom and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultrawide camera. Videos up to 4K in resolution can be recorded on the phone. The phone features a 50-megapixel OV50M selfie camera on the front.

The 6,800mAh battery of the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra supports both 50W wireless and 90W cable fast charging. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C, 5G, and 4G LTE. Its dust and water resistance ratings are IP66 + IP68 + IP69. For further protection, the phone has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The phone weighs about 224g and has a thickness of 8.29mm.
