With the help of new technology, challans are issued directly online using traffic cameras. The challan information is then sent to the vehicle owner’s mobile phone. However, it is often seen that despite following the rules, a wrong challan is issued in the name of the vehicle owner.

According to the report, there can be many reasons for a wrong challan, such as the number plate not being clearly visible, a technical fault, or a mismatch with another vehicle. In such cases, the vehicle owner does not need to pay an unnecessary fine.
How to cancel an e-challan
If a wrong challan has been issued in your name, you can file a complaint by visiting the official website of the e-challan transport department. After visiting the portal, you need to fill in the complaint option, challan number, vehicle number, and mobile number.
Along with this, you need to upload necessary documents like RC, driving license, and a photo of the vehicle. You also need to clarify the reasons why the challan is wrong. After receiving the complaint, the traffic department investigates the matter, and if any mistake is found, the challan is cancelled.

Also, if the driver wishes, they can go to the nearest traffic police office and submit a written complaint. After the investigation is completed, the wrong challan is usually removed, and no penalty is imposed.
