The IPL 2026 mini auction is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16th, and a long list of players has been revealed. The list includes the names of 1,355 players who have registered for the IPL auction. It’s worth noting that 45 players have registered in the highest base price category of Rs 2 crore. Only two Indian players, Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer, are included in this Rs 2 crore price range.
All eyes on Cameron Green
Australia’s star all-rounder Cameron Green, whose base price is Rs 2 crore, could fetch a big sum in this auction. He missed the 2025 mega auction due to a back injury. Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 64.3 crore purse) and Chennai Super Kings (Rs 43.4 crore) have the most money left, and both could make a big bet on Green due to the vacant overseas player slot.
This time KKR has released 9 players, including Venkatesh Iyer, whom the team had bought for 23.75 crores in the last mega auction. Now the team has 13 slots vacant, which include 6 foreigners. Apart from this, CSK also released its fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana due to injury. Pathirana was retained by CSK last year for 13 crores.
