MI can try to sign this player
Mumbai Indians are now looking for a replacement for Arjun Tendulkar. MI may add Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi to their team during the auction. According to a report, Nabi underwent trials at the Mumbai Indians facility in Ghansoli on Friday (November 21). Born in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, Nabi has performed exceptionally well in red-ball cricket over the past few years.
Aaqib Nabi took 44 wickets in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy. He was the second-highest wicket-taker that season. He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in the current Ranji Trophy season. This year, Nabi, playing for North Zone in a Duleep Trophy match against East Zone, took four wickets in four consecutive balls. With this, Nabi became the first bowler to take a double hat-trick in the Duleep Trophy. When a bowler takes four wickets in four consecutive balls, it is called a double hat-trick.
Right-arm fast bowler Aaqib Nabi has taken 125 wickets in 36 first-class matches at an average of 19.98. He has also taken 42 wickets in 29 List A matches at an average of 28.88. However, Nabi’s T20 statistics are not as impressive. He has taken 28 wickets in 27 T20 matches at an average of 26.39. Nabi has also been a useful contributor with the bat. He has scored 870 runs in first-class cricket, 351 in List A cricket, and 99 in T20 cricket.
