Jammu and Kashmir Blast Update: News of blasts is emerging from one country after another. Recently, a car blast was reported in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has described the massive explosion that occurred late Wednesday night at the Nowgam police station on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, as an accident. In a press conference, the Ministry stated that the explosion at the police station was not a terrorist plot or attack, but merely an accident that occurred while the FSL team was collecting samples. The Ministry has clarified that this incident was purely an accident and was not a part of any terrorist activity or terrorist attack.

Accident Occurred During FSL Sampling
According to the Home Ministry’s preliminary investigation, the explosion occurred while the police and forensic team were sampling explosive material seized in Faridabad in connection with a case related to a “white-collar terrorist module.” This material was recovered under FIR No. 162/2025. Sampling had been ongoing for the past two days as per the SOP.

The SIA team, FSL team, magistrate, crime photographer, a local tailor, and several police officers were present at the scene at the time of the incident. Safety standards were followed during sampling, but the explosive material’s instability caused the accident.
