Nissan is gearing up to strengthen its foothold in the Indian SUV market! The company has officially teased its upcoming C-SUV, the Nissan Tekton. Photos shared on Instagram reveal the powerful SUV’s design and several features. The Tekton will be Nissan’s second SUV in the Indian market, and the company has also clarified the philosophy behind its name, along with the launch date.

This SUV will be a unique blend of superior engineering, excellent performance, and a unique design. If you’ve been waiting for a premium, bold, and technology-rich SUV, the Tekton could be your next great choice.

Meaning of the Name Tekton

Nissan has named its highly anticipated SUV ‘Tekton.’ This will be the second car in Nissan’s SUV lineup, and the company has shared its unique thinking behind the name. In Greek, Tekton means craftsman or architect. Nissan believes the name resonates deeply with the company’s philosophy towards engineering and innovation.

The Tekton is being touted as a powerful and premium C-SUV segment car, embodying outstanding performance and exceptional design. The company states that the Tekton will be the ideal car for those shaping their world through their career, hobbies, or lifestyle.

When will it be launched?

Nissan’s new SUV will be very similar to its most popular petrol-powered SUV, known for its ease of handling difficult terrain. This will be Nissan’s second SUV in the Indian market early next year (2026). The company has clarified that the Tecton has been designed and engineered to break new ground in the C-SUV segment even before its launch and sales.

It will be the second car to be introduced under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy. The new Tekton will be manufactured at the Chennai plant in partnership with Renault and Nissan. This new car will be produced not only for the Indian market but will also be exported to select foreign markets.

Design and Features

The Tekton will be robust and powerful in performance, with a bold and striking design. The Tekton’s front will feature a powerfully designed hood, C-shaped headlamps, and a strong lower bumper inspired by Nissan’s Patrol SUV. These features give the car a dominant and imposing appearance, making the Tekton appear larger than its actual size.

The SUV’s side profile will have a strong and muscular stance. Most notably, the SUV’s front doors will feature a ‘double-C’ shaped accent with a Himalayan-like mountain range motif, giving the design an Indian touch. The rear will feature a red lightbar spanning its entire width. This distinctive design will convey a sense of power and complement the dynamic ‘C-shaped’ taillights. The tailgate will also feature the inscription “Tekton.”
