If you have always wanted to buy a Toyota Fortuner but its price kept you going, now is the good news for you. Toyota is soon going to launch a new compact SUV Land Cruiser FJ, called Mini Fortuner. The car will have a forward-like strength, design and off-roading capability, but the price will be kept significantly lower.

Mini Fortuner
Toyota Motor Company is working towards reinvigorating its Land Cruiser Series. In this episode, the company is preparing to introduce a new SUV named Land Cruiser FJ. It is being called the “Mini Fortuner” because it is designed to be strong, strong and off-roading just like the Fortuner, but will be small in size and price. According to reports, this SUV will be presented to the world on 21 October 2025. The showcase will take place just before Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025, where Toyota will hold its Prolog event.
Interior and features
This SUV from inside will be extremely premium. Its cabin will be inspired by Hilux, but it will see even more modern touches. It will get touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, improved sound system and cooling features. Toyota has not made any compromises in terms of safety. The car will include features such as ADAS Level-2 Technology, Multiple Airbags and Advanced Driving Assistance System.
Engine and power
Toyota is preparing Land Cruiser FJ on the IMV-0 platform, which is also the base of Hilux and Fortuner. This means that the car will also be strong and economical. Talking about the engine, it will be given a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, which will generate around 200 bhp power and 500 nm of torque. A mild-hybrid system can also be combined with this, which will improve its fuel efficiency.
At the same time as a petrol engine, it will get a 2.7-liter NA engine, which will give 163 bhp power and 245 Nm torque. Both engines will come with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission option. The SUV will have 4×4 systems, Torsen LSD and multiple drive modes, allowing it to run comfortably on every terrain.

Price and launch detail
While the price of Toyota Fortuner goes from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 50 lakh in India, Mini Fortuner i.e. Land Cruiser FJ is expected to be priced between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (X-showroom). The company will first manufacture it in Thailand and later be assembled in a new plant located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra) in India. According to reports, its showcase will take place in October 2025, and sales can begin in early 2026.
