Postmen will deliver digital life certificates
Postmen will deliver digital life certificates. In return, the EPFO will pay ₹50 per life certificate to the IPPB. Pensioners will not have to pay any additional fees. Furthermore, EPFO members will now be able to withdraw 75% of their provident fund at any time. Speaking to reporters at the regional office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization on Friday, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner Uday Bakshi, Regional Commissioners Shahid Iqbal and Gautam stated that there are 632,052 pensioners across the state. They are required to submit life certificates once a year. Life certificates for 139,937 pensioners have not been submitted.
Facility to withdraw 75% money of your account
Life certificates for 38,342 pensioners have not been submitted for five years. This is why pension payments are not being made. A decision has been reached between the EPFO and IPPB to require the submission of these life certificates. In case of natural disasters, unemployment, or disability, members will now be able to withdraw 75 percent of their provident fund without submitting any documents. The remaining 25 percent can be withdrawn after 12 months of continuous unemployment.
A member becomes eligible for pension only after completing 10 years of continuous service. Now, the withdrawal period for pension accumulations has been extended from two months to 36 months. If a second job is obtained during this period, the previous service period will also be added. This will entitle the member to pension as if they had completed 10 years of continuous service. EPFO has extended the deadline for filing revised Electronic Contribution and Return (ECR) to October 22nd of this month.
