The Maharashtra government issued a circular on September 18th . Then, on November 9th, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare appealed to all women in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also stated that it is mandatory for women in Maharashtra to complete e-KYC for the Ladki Bahin Yojana. If someone fails to complete e-KYC despite repeated government appeals, who will be held responsible for not receiving the money—the eligible woman or the government?
Next installment update
In fact, the Maharashtra government has already announced that it will send the September installment to women in the state before Diwali. Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare provided this information on Thursday. In her post, she wrote, “The process of distributing the September Samman Nidhi to all eligible beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana begins tomorrow (October 10). Soon, the Samman Nidhi will be distributed to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of all eligible beneficiaries of the scheme.”
Urged to do eKYC
He further urged eligible women to get their EKYC done. The Minister said, “This empowerment revolution, which began with the unwavering faith of the mothers and sisters of Maharashtra, is progressing successfully. To continue this journey in the same unwavering manner, the E-KYC facility has been made available on the website https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in since last month. All our dear sisters are humbly requested to complete the E-KYC process within the next two months.”
On September 18th, the Maharashtra government provided an important update for beneficiaries of the “Mukhyamantri-Majhi Ladki Behen” scheme. Aadhaar authentication via e-KYC is now approved for verification and authentication of eligible women under this scheme. The Department of Women and Child Development issued this information in a circular dated September 18th, 2025.
A government notification was issued on August 1, 2024, under Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, for the ‘Mukhyamantri-Majhi Ladki Behin’ scheme. According to this notification, eligible women must either provide proof of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication to avail the scheme benefits. The Department of Women and Child Development has been appointed by the UIDAI as the Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA. Therefore, the department is verifying and certifying eligible women under the scheme through Aadhaar authentication via e-KYC.
