Ahoi Ashtami Vrat is observed by mothers in Hinduism to pray for the long life, happiness, prosperity, and good health of their children. This Vrat is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, which falls about a week before Diwali. On this day, mothers observe a fast from sunrise till the sighting of stars and worship Ahoi Mata in the evening.
